Equality, diversity and inclusion statement

We are dedicated to fostering an environment where every child, family and practitioner across Kingston and Richmond is valued and protected. Our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) is reflected in this statement.

Upholding the protected characteristics as defined in the Equality Act 2010, we promote the rights of all children so that they are protected from all types of abuse and harm.

KRSCP recognises that beyond the protected characteristics, there are additional vulnerabilities which can lead to discrimination and marginalisation:

  • Poverty
  • Affluence
  • Mental health
  • Neurodiversity
  • Care status/care experienced
  • Young carers
  • Young parents
  • Identity
  • Gender questioning/gender reassignment
  • Families i.e. nuclear/single parent/mixed

As a safeguarding partnership, we embrace all, and our expectation is that partners will endeavour to ensure this commitment is reflected in all aspects of safeguarding practice.
