Independent scrutiny
The role of independent scrutineer is to act as a critical friend to promote reflection and drive continuous improvement. The independent scrutineer considers how effective local safeguarding arrangements are and provides constructive feedback and any recommendations on this to the strategic leadership group for their consideration. The independent scrutineer also scrutinises the partnership's annual report.
Locally, we also invite our independent scrutineer to contribute to our deep dive learning cycles. You can read outcomes of previous independent scrutiny of local arrangements and deep dives:
- The Journey to Exclusion – Independent Scrutiny Report, Chris Robson, January 2021
- Impact of domestic abuse on children – Independent Scrutiny Report, Nicola Brownjohn, May 2021
- Local safeguarding arrangements – Independent Scrutiny Report, Jenny Pearce, September 2021
Our current independent scrutineer is Amanda Boodhoo. You can contact Amanda via the partnership team.
