Child death review

Since October 2019 child deaths (deaths of 0-17 year olds) in Kingston and Richmond have been reviewed by the South West London Child Death Overview Panel (SWL CDOP) which was established across Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton, and Wandsworth in accordance with the Children and Social Work Act 2017 and updated statutory child death review guidance.

Chapter 5 of Working Together to Safeguard Children gives an overview of the child death review process. For the specific statutory guidance view child death review (GOV.UK).

Notification of child death

Child deaths may be notified by anybody who is made aware, and it is helpful to receive any available information as soon as possible. You can notify a child death via the eCDOP portal.

If you need any assistance, you may contact the Partnership Coordinator, Sarah Bennett, who is the single point of contact for the child death review process for Kingston and Richmond at sarah.bennett@kingrichlscb.org.uk or on 07890 912007.
